The picture is of the X-Wing Tornado but the graphics are the same on the Fury with a lighter red tone on the front portion of the ski in place of the darker wine color shown in the picture. The X-Wing Fury with its shape of 128/85/111 gives credibility to wider is better if you want a ski for all snow conditions (one ski quiver).
The wider waist (85mm) gives additional floatation in softer snow conditions when compared to the Tornado. If you do not encounter softer conditions or mostly ski in the East then we recommend you buy the Tornado. Both skis use the same binding systems.
The Fury has a slightly straighter sidecut which is more preferable in softer snow conditions, however BOTH skis are quick and very easy skiing. The X-Wing category for Salomon is their strongest selling category and always gets top reviews in the ski magazine tests. These skis are delivered to the U.S. so they carry a full warrantee in the U.S. unlike skis delivered into Canada and then resold into the U.S. Remember that this price is delivered to you in the 48 states and there is NO tax out of California.
